More than 56,000 people ran the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race on July 4, the world's largest 10K, along the hot and hilly 6.2 miles from Buckhead down to Midtown. Weaving through all of them was a giant hot dog.
That was Mico Quijano, a runner and content creator from Charlotte running his first Peachtree dressed head to toe as a hot dog, pockets stuffed with ketchup packets and a tote bag full of foil-wrapped Costco dogs to hand out along the way, according to Rough Draft Atlanta.
The Peachtree Road Race has always rewarded a good bit, and this one landed. Quijano says he wants to bring the hot dog back and make it an annual thing. In a race this big, becoming the person everyone remembers is its own kind of finish-line glory.
