Mechanicsville is one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods, located just south of Downtown and west of the Summerhill development. Named for the railroad mechanics who once lived here, the neighborhood has faced decades of disinvestment but is now seeing new attention thanks to the stadium district redevelopment and BeltLine planning. The McDaniel-Glenn MARTA station provides transit access.
