MARTA's long-awaited Better Breeze fare system is finally here. All stations across the transit network are now online with the new payment technology, replacing the aging Breeze system that's been in place for over a decade.

The transition period runs through May 2, meaning both old Breeze cards and new contactless options will work at fare gates during that window. MARTA is encouraging riders to make the switch sooner rather than later to avoid any last-minute headaches.

The Better Breeze system supports tap-to-pay with credit cards, smartphones, and new reloadable cards. It's the kind of infrastructure upgrade that World Cup visitors will appreciate when they descend on Atlanta this summer. For daily commuters, it means faster throughput at busy stations like Five Points and Lindbergh.
