Buckhead welcomed a new dining destination this week with the opening of Koshu Club at 99 West Paces Ferry Road NW. The restaurant is a collaboration between Castellucci Hospitality Group (Cooks & Soldiers, Double Zero, MUJO) and Chef J. Trent Harris, who brings experience from the Michelin-starred MUJO.

The name 'Koshu' refers to intentionally aged sake, while 'Club' captures the restaurant's energetic atmosphere. The menu blends traditional Japanese washoku with Western-influenced yoshoku cuisine, with a focus on high-quality seafood and premium meats like wagyu prepared using the sumibiyaki method of slow-grilling over charcoal.

Highlights include American Wagyu filet from Mishima Reserve with demi-glace, yamitsuki cabbage, and mushroom doria. The restaurant is open daily from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Separately, chef Kathryn Fitzgerald is preparing to open Last Dance in Avondale Estates in May, a farm-to-table restaurant she describes as 'an eccentric cottage or farmhouse in the middle of France on New Year's Eve night.'
