If you've been wondering what to do with those weekend BeltLine walks through Grant Park, Trattoria Lucia just solved your problem. The 60-seat Italian restaurant from Vesper's Damien McGee is launching weekend brunch service March 28, and the menu sounds exactly like what you'd want after working up an appetite on the trail.
We're talking affogato French toast (espresso-soaked brioche with vanilla gelato), prosciutto Benedict with basil hollandaise on rosemary focaccia, and an Italian farm skillet with eggs, sausage, and roasted potatoes. McGee says these are dishes he'd want to eat on weekends, just seen through an Italian filter, which honestly sounds perfect.
The location is key here. Glenwood Park and that whole stretch of the BeltLine has been getting busier and busier, especially on weekends. Having a solid brunch spot right off Garrett Street gives people a reason to linger in the neighborhood instead of just passing through. Plus, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hits that sweet spot for post-workout or post-walk meals.
