Thousands of protesters marched through downtown Atlanta on Saturday as part of the nationwide No Kings demonstrations against the Trump administration's policies. The Atlanta march began at the Memorial Drive Greenway and ended at the State Capitol.

Senator Raphael Warnock addressed the crowd, encouraging attendees to "stand up for our democracy." Common Cause Georgia's Rosario Palacios reminded marchers that they were walking the same route as Dr. King's 1968 funeral procession down what is now Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Protests also took place in Decatur, where about 200 people gathered along Clairmont Road by 10:45 a.m. Other demonstrations happened in Marietta, Sandy Springs, Smyrna, McDonough, and Fayetteville. Organizers said about 450 people showed up at the McDonough stop alone.

Veterans were a visible presence at the downtown rally. Army veteran Marc McCaughey called the administration's actions an attempt to "subvert the Constitution." Another veteran, Luke White, carried American flags and criticized recent military actions as lacking Congressional approval.
