Westside is a broad term covering several neighborhoods west of the Downtown Connector, including areas around the Westside Provisions District and the growing corridor along Howell Mill Road. The Westside Provisions District (home to Bacchanalia, one of Atlanta's finest restaurants, plus shops and offices) and the Star Provisions complex put this area on the food map years ago.
The Westside is also home to significant cultural landmarks including the Center for Civil and Human Rights history and connections to the Atlanta University Center. Real estate development has been aggressive, with new apartment complexes, townhome communities, and commercial spaces transforming formerly industrial blocks. The BeltLine's Westside Trail connects through parts of this area. The Microsoft campus (the redeveloped Quarry Yards site) is a major driver of change here.
