Edgewood is a small residential neighborhood tucked between Inman Park, Kirkwood, and Candler Park. It's easy to confuse with Edgewood Avenue (which runs through Old Fourth Ward and is known for bars), but the actual Edgewood neighborhood is a quieter, primarily residential area along the MARTA east-west rail corridor. The Edgewood/Candler Park MARTA station sits right in the middle of things, giving the neighborhood some of the best transit access on the east side.
The neighborhood itself doesn't have a huge commercial district, but its location means you're a short walk or bike ride to the restaurants and bars in Inman Park, Candler Park, and Kirkwood. Edgewood Retail District (anchored by a large Kroger) provides everyday shopping. The housing stock is a mix of bungalows, newer townhomes, and apartment developments near the MARTA station. Prices have risen with the tide lifting all east-side neighborhoods, but Edgewood is still somewhat overlooked compared to its more famous neighbors, which can work in a buyer's favor.
The vibe is residential and low-key. People who live in Edgewood tend to appreciate the central location and transit access without the premium price tag of being directly on the BeltLine. It's a neighborhood where you know your neighbors, the streets are relatively quiet, and you can be at Krog Street Market in ten minutes on a bike.
