The Road to Omaha runs through Atlanta and Athens. Both Georgia Tech and Georgia baseball will host NCAA tournament regionals starting Friday after capping dominant seasons with conference championship victories.
Georgia Tech (48-9) defeated North Carolina 13-6 Sunday to claim its first ACC Tournament championship since 2014 and the first under head coach James Ramsey. The Yellow Jackets will host the Atlanta Regional at Russ Chandler Stadium, the 13th time Tech has hosted and the first since 2019.
Georgia (46-12) crushed Arkansas 11-1 in seven innings to win its first SEC Tournament championship in program history. Jack Arcamone drove in four runs with a home run and single to lead the Bulldogs. Georgia will host the Athens Regional at Foley Field for the third consecutive year.
Both games were delayed by heavy rain Saturday, but neither team showed rust. Georgia starter Paul Farley (8-1) allowed six hits in four scoreless innings, while the Bulldogs' offense erupted for five runs in the first inning.
The NCAA Tournament field was announced Monday, with 16 regional sites across the country. Both Georgia programs are positioned as potential national title contenders, and the possibility of an in-state super regional matchup has fans buzzing.
Tickets for the Atlanta Regional can be purchased through Georgia Tech athletics. Tickets for the Athens Regional are available through Georgia athletics.
