The race for Fulton County Commission chair is heating up. At a debate Tuesday night at Enon Church in South Fulton, challengers Marvin Arrington Jr. and Mo Ivory went after incumbent Robb Pitts on multiple fronts.

Both candidates blamed Pitts for horrific conditions at the county jail and the ongoing backlog in county courts. They also pointed to disparities in economic development and health care between the wealthier, whiter north side and the poorer, largely Black south side.

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result," Ivory said. "For the past 12 to 20 years, we've seen the same leadership, same patterns, same problems." The primary is May 19.
