Decatur's dining scene has a new player. Fork & Vine Social opened in late January with global small plates and craft cocktails in a 65-seat space designed for socializing.
Chef Palash Kadam draws on his travels for the menu. Born in India, he worked in Europe and cooked on a cruise ship before landing in Decatur. Expect dishes like brussel sprout bhel (an Indian spin with peanuts, pomegranate seeds, and yogurt drizzle), spanakopita, and jackfruit carnitas tacos.
Co-owner Meha Parikh, who also runs Johnny's New York Style Pizza on the Westside, says the variety is intentional. "We have a lot of different flavors in our food. You are not stuck eating just Mediterranean or steakhouse or Italian." The lamb chops and crab cakes have already drawn attention.
