When Hypepotamus first covered a scrappy Georgia Tech startup pitching health solutions in 2024, the team was one to watch. Now Midtown welcomes a different kind of debut.
Chef Jonny Rhodes, who closed his celebrated Houston restaurant Indigo in 2021, has returned to the restaurant scene with alonetogether, an upscale brasserie and non-alcoholic beverage bar that opened June 3 at 1270 W Peachtree St NW.
After closing Indigo and his grocery concept Broham Fine Soulfood & Groceries, Rhodes embarked on a five-year journey across Southeast Asia, West Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean, connecting with Indigenous communities, witnessing religious ceremonies and agricultural traditions.
Menu highlights include a seafood platter inspired by his time on Gonave Island off the coast of Haiti, Clara's Kalalou Soup as a tribute to his mother, and a 32-day Dry-Aged Prime Ribeye Au Poivre.
Anchoring the restaurant's unique approach is its focus on non-alcoholic beverages, offering an alternative to traditional bar programming.
