There's something perfect about hosting an art exhibition called 'Redemption' in a historic downtown hotel. Latryce Marie Golliday, who moved to Atlanta from Michigan about a decade ago, chose the name deliberately to reflect her emotional journey as she transitioned from treating painting as a hobby to building a full-time artistic practice.

The exhibition at the Candler Hotel brought together nearly 30 works spanning sculpture, photography, and painting. For Golliday, who spent the past two years making this transition to professional artist, having a solo show in one of downtown's landmark spaces represents a significant milestone. The Candler's historic character provides the perfect backdrop for work exploring themes of transformation and renewal.

What makes this especially meaningful is the location choice. Downtown Atlanta has been working to build its arts scene, and events like this help establish the area as a legitimate cultural destination rather than just a business district. Plus, the Candler Hotel itself has its own story of transformation, making it a fitting venue for an exhibition about redemption and new beginnings.
