One of the WNBA's most popular players is heading to Atlanta. Angel Reese, the former LSU star and two-time All-Star forward, was traded to the Atlanta Dream on April 6 in exchange for two first-round picks (2027 and 2028).

Reese's numbers tell the story of an elite rebounder: 14.7 points, 12 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game last season with the Chicago Sky. Her 5.1 offensive rebounds per game led the league.

The Dream's front court gets significantly more physical with the 6-3 Reese joining Brittney Griner, Rhyne Howard, and All-League selection Allisha Gray. The roster now has serious depth across every position.

The Dream open the preseason on May 3 against the Washington Mystics at Gateway Center Arena in College Park. The regular season tips off May 17 when the reigning champion Las Vegas Aces visit State Farm Arena.

For a franchise that has built steadily through the draft and free agency, adding a player of Reese's caliber signals the Dream are ready to compete for a championship. The trade gives Atlanta one of the most talented rosters in the Eastern Conference heading into a season with rising expectations.
