After nearly 25 years as a primarily online destination for home goods, Wayfair has opened a 150,000-square-foot superstore at The District at Howell Mill in West Midtown. It is the company's second brick-and-mortar store nationally, following its first in Wilmette, Illinois.

"Atlanta is one of the most dynamic home markets in the country," said Liza Lefkowski, Wayfair's vice president of merchandising and stores, in an interview with Atlanta Magazine. "It's filled with creativity, growth, and people who want to invest in their homes. We already have a strong connection with customers here, and we look forward to building on that momentum."

The Atlanta store carries merchandise for every room, including furniture, decorative accessories, housewares, bedding and bath, home improvement items, and seasonal updates. Company leaders said the store is structured to work as both a city destination and a regional hub for the broader Southeast.

For West Midtown, the opening adds a national retail anchor to a district that has steadily shifted from light-industrial uses to a mix of restaurants, residential, and retail. The Howell Mill corridor has attracted chains and local operators in equal measure, and Wayfair's footprint is among the largest single-tenant boxes to land in the district in recent years.

Atlanta shoppers can expect to see merchandise curated for Southern taste profiles, with Lefkowski noting that local customers often blend traditional and contemporary interior design in highly personal ways.
