Terminus Roasting Co. officially opened this week in the renovated former postal annex at 720 North Highland Avenue in Poncey-Highland, bringing a new specialty coffee option to one of Atlanta's most walkable corridors. Founder Elaine Chen, a former Intelligentsia buyer, spent two years building direct relationships with farms in Colombia's Huila region, Ethiopia's Yirgacheffe district, and Guatemala's Antigua Valley.
The 1,800-square-foot space features a visible roasting operation behind floor-to-ceiling glass, a 14-seat tasting bar, and a small retail section selling bags and brewing equipment. Chen said the cafe will also host weekly cupping sessions open to the public.
"Atlanta's coffee scene has grown incredibly over the past five years, and I wanted to create a space where people can really connect with where their coffee comes from," Chen said. The shop is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with plans to add weekend evening hours this summer.
