First BeltLine Trail with Direct MARTA Access Gets Visual Preview

The Oakland City MARTA station connector trail is taking shape, and it's going to be a game changer for transit access. This 1.31-mile branch will be the first direct link between the BeltLine and a MARTA station. The connector will branch off near Lee + White and serve Oakland City and Capitol View neighborhoods, finally giving folks a car-free way to hop between the trail and rail.

About Capitol View

Capitol View is a southwest Atlanta neighborhood named for its sightline to the Georgia State Capitol dome. It's a historically African American community with a mix of older bungalows and newer construction. The BeltLine's Southside and Westside trails are planned to improve connectivity for this area, and development pressure from the growing Westside corridor is starting to push into Capitol View. The neighborhood still has some of the most affordable single-family homes inside the Perimeter.
