The Atlanta Hawks signed veteran center Tony Bradley on Monday, adding frontcourt depth as the team heads into the most important stretch of its season.
Bradley, who most recently played for the Indiana Pacers, brings size and experience to a Hawks roster that has relied heavily on its backcourt this season. He played his first minutes for Atlanta in Monday night's 108-105 loss to the New York Knicks at State Farm Arena.
The loss snapped Atlanta's 13-game home win streak. CJ McCollum's half-court heave at the buzzer banked in but was ruled no good after replay showed the ball was still in his hands when time expired. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 30 points and 13 assists.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker paced the Hawks with 36 points, while Jalen Johnson recorded his 48th double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Hawks face a brutal final week of the regular season with playoff positioning on the line. The addition of Bradley signals that the front office believes this team can make noise in the postseason and is willing to add pieces to support the run.
