A growth-stage, construction-focused AI company in Atlanta has been acquired by public company Trimble.

Document Crunch has built construction-specific AI for document analysis and risk management spanning the full project lifecycle. The platform has been used and deployed on over 10,000 projects to date. The acquisition will allow Trimble to incorporate document intelligence and compliance automation across the Trimble Construction ecosystem.

Document Crunch took the stage at Venture Atlanta in 2024 and raised its $21.5 million Series B that same year.

CEO and attorney-turned-entrepreneur Josh Levy told Hypepotamus that the "quintessential American Dream is building a company toward either acquisition or IPO," so such an outcome was always on his mind.

"The only goal when we started was to build something meaningful, and everything else has unfolded from there," Levy said. The team was introduced to the NASDAQ-listed company through Document Crunch's VC partners.

For Atlanta's growing construction tech ecosystem, the acquisition validates the city's role as a hub for industry-specific AI applications. Trimble, based in Colorado, develops positioning technologies for surveying, construction, agriculture, and public safety.
