This is a bad one. Brookhaven police were called to Parke Towne North Apartments just after midnight Monday and found one man dead in the driver's seat of a car. The door was still open, and there were more than two dozen shell casings and evidence scattered around the parking lot near the car.

What makes this even more concerning is that officers found another dozen casings well away from the original scene. That suggests either multiple shooters or someone moving around during the incident. A neighbor reported hearing the shots, which isn't surprising given the amount of evidence police collected.

A second person was also shot and taken to the hospital, though police haven't released their condition. This comes after several other violent incidents in Brookhaven recently, including a shooting at the Kroger on Peachtree Road just Sunday morning. For a city that prides itself on being relatively quiet and safe, this level of gun violence is really concerning.
