Mark your calendars. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is heading back to Piedmont Park for a free concert on Sunday, April 19, at 6 p.m. on Oak Hill.

Conductor Finan Jones is leading a program designed to celebrate the nation's 250th birthday. The setlist includes works by John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, and Florence Price, plus pieces by William Grant Still and a teenage Georgia composer's "Reflections on Georgia." The finale is Dvorak's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World."

Arrive early. The park fills up quickly for these annual concerts, and prime blanket spots go fast. There's no admission charge.

"Returning to perform in Piedmont Park is a cherished tradition," said ASO Executive Director Jennifer Barlament. The orchestra sees it as a chance to share music "in a gorgeous setting under the stars."
