Atlanta's favorite open-streets fiesta is gearing up to show the world how ATL rolls.
Atlanta Streets Alive will debut a new route called "BeltLine to Vine" from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 14, closing Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to cars between Burbank Drive and Northside Drive.
The route connects Mercedes-Benz Stadium to the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail, creating a car-free corridor for walking, biking, skating, and other activities.
Organized by the Atlanta Department of Transportation and Propel ATL, the event will feature entertainment including a pop-up dance party hosted by WQEB 97.3, swing dancing with Hot Jam, house music from DJ PKay, dance instruction from Kim Armstrong, and performances by Atlanta-based all-female a cappella group Octave Atlanta.
The timing is designed to welcome World Cup visitors and give locals a chance to experience the Westside corridor on foot.
