Atlanta Pride has opened nominations for its 2026 Grand Marshals, the honorary title given each year to individuals and organizations whose contributions have uplifted Georgia's LGBTQ+ community.

"Serving as a Grand Marshal is a powerful recognition of the tireless advocacy and dedication that moves our community forward," the organization said in announcing the nomination period.

The Grand Marshal selection process is open to public nominations, allowing community members to put forward the names of people and groups they believe have made a meaningful impact. Past honorees have included activists, healthcare providers, educators, and cultural leaders from across metro Atlanta.

Atlanta Pride, one of the oldest and largest Pride organizations in the Southeast, typically holds its main festival and parade in Piedmont Park each October. The Grand Marshal announcement is one of the first major milestones in the lead-up to the annual celebration.

The nomination period signals the start of Pride season planning in Atlanta, a city that has long been considered the capital of LGBTQ+ life in the South. Details on the nomination deadline and selection criteria are available through Atlanta Pride's official channels.
