If you've been watching Midtown's skyline evolve, you've seen this tower going up since 2023. Now 1072 West Peachtree is officially done, and the crane that's been a fixture over Midtown is finally coming down.

The 60-story mixed-use building from Rockefeller Group is the tallest new construction Atlanta has seen since the early 1990s. That's not nothing. For context, we're talking about three decades of no one building anything this tall in the city.

The crane disassembly started this week and will continue through Wednesday. If you're driving through Midtown, heads up: all of West Peachtree Street between 11th and 12th streets is closed through April 15, with northbound traffic diverted onto 11th Street. Plan accordingly, especially if you're heading to Piedmont Park for the Dogwood Festival this weekend.
