Wayfair has opened its first Atlanta store, marking the online furniture giant's continued push into physical retail.

The large-format store gives Atlanta shoppers a chance to see, touch, and test Wayfair's home goods in person before purchasing. It's the company's second large-format brick-and-mortar location as the e-commerce retailer expands its physical presence.

The opening comes as several major retailers are rethinking their physical footprint in Atlanta. The metro area's population growth and consumer spending power have made it an attractive market for flagship retail experiences.

Wayfair went public in 2014 and has primarily operated as an online-only retailer. The shift to physical stores represents a strategic pivot to capture customers who prefer to shop in person for big-ticket home items like furniture, rugs, and decor.
