March was a strong month for Southeast startup funding, with several large rounds headlining the region's venture activity.
Atlanta's Zero RFI, an AI-native holding company focused on the construction industry, raised a $13.8 million seed round. The company buys construction businesses and integrates them with AI-powered tools.
Other notable raises included Sarasota-based TENEX AI ($250M Series B in cybersecurity), Miami's eMed ($200M Series A for GLP-1 weight-loss management, valued at $2 billion), and Huntsville's Performance Drone Works ($110M Series B for autonomous drones).
Separately, a new Georgia investor syndicate combining the Emory BioFoundry Institute, Invest Georgia, and the Georgia Tech Research Impact Fund announced an investment in Atlanta healthtech startup Sanguina, which offers AI-powered anemia monitoring through a smartphone app analyzing fingernail photos.
