#atlanta-ga Even though the official start of fall is still more than two weeks away, something in the air has definitely shifted. I walked out onto my back porch a couple of nights ago and to my surprise, the air felt pleasantly cool!

If you are anything like me, even though we all know it’s coming, I’m always caught just a little bit off guard with the impending change of seasons. And of course, this year has been like no other we have ever experienced.

Instead of the automatic delight at the thought of back to school or college for our children and grandchildren, the anticipation of driving up to north Georgia in the coming weeks to see the spectacular change of colors and buy some of those delicious north Georgia apples or make a visit to one of the area wineries, many of us are approaching this new season with a sense of uncertainty.

And that’s just a natural and very human reaction.

But here’s what I know. We are a resilient people and we will get through this. Here in the South, especially those of us here in Georgia and in the Atlanta metro area, can draw on our long history of perseverance in the face of enormous difficulties, no matter what our background.

As for me, I draw strength from knowing my parents and grandparents made it through the dark days of the Great Depression and just like them, I have faith that better days are coming.

Like many of you, I did manage to put on a few unwanted COVID pounds due to eating too much of that comfort food us Georgians love…like that peach cobbler warm from the oven and topped with cream that I baked a few days ago!

Fortunately for me, my daily intermittent fasting practice helps me to keep those pounds in check and provides me with a host of other benefits as well, including helping me to keep my emotional stability. I know I will rely on that practice to get me through the coming months of fall and winter, when cooler weather prompts most people to pack on extra pounds.

If you would like to know more about intermittent fasting and how it can help you lose and maintain weight, you are invited to join our free 1800 member Facebook group where you can get lots more information and support.

Even though the group was begun for entrepreneurs who were interested in intermittent fasting, you don’t have to be a business owner to join. Just click here to check it out! And happy fall, y’all…!
