Thousands of demonstrators took part in "No Kings" rallies across metro Atlanta on Saturday, joining millions of Americans nationally who took to the streets.
The largest local rally drew an estimated 6,000 people to the State Capitol. Chants of "Abolish ICE!" and "No war, no kings!" rang out in what was easily Atlanta's biggest day of protests so far in 2026.
U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock warned the crowd about Christian nationalism. "Part of what pains me in this moment is that, too often, it is religious voices that are among the meanest voices in our country," he said. Warnock vowed not to vote for "a single dime" of additional ICE funding without major reforms.
The protest was organized by a coalition including Georgia chapters of 50501, Indivisible, the ACLU, and the Democratic Socialists of America. Demonstrations also took place at other locations, including a luxury retirement community in Dunwoody.
