About Lakewood Heights
Lakewood Heights is a south Atlanta neighborhood near the former Lakewood Fairgrounds site (now the Lakewood Amphitheatre and surrounding commercial area). The neighborhood has a mix of older single-family homes and is one of the more affordable areas inside the Perimeter. The BeltLine's Southside Trail is planned to run through this area, connecting it to the southeast corridor. The Lakewood-Fort McPherson MARTA station provides rail access. Redevelopment of the former Fort McPherson site (now Tyler Perry Studios) has brought renewed attention to this part of the city.
