The Little Five Points Mural Festival returns this weekend for its eighth year, bringing 20 new large-scale murals to buildings, walls, and alleyways across the eclectic Eastside neighborhood. This year's theme, "Roots & Routes," celebrates the neighborhood's long history as a hub for Atlanta's counterculture, music, and independent business scenes.
Featured artists include Atlanta-based painter Shanequa Gay, whose work explores Black Southern identity, and Nashville muralist Andee Rudloff, known for large-scale botanical installations. Several murals will be painted live throughout the weekend, and organizers have planned guided walking tours, panel discussions on public art policy, and a closing concert at the Star Community Bar on Sunday evening.
Festival director Marin Carpenter said this year's event received a record 340 artist applications. "Little Five Points has always been Atlanta's most visually expressive neighborhood, and the festival is a chance to keep that tradition alive while bringing in fresh perspectives," she said. All events are free and open to the public.
