West Midtown's dining scene just got more interesting with Füm, an Italian restaurant that takes both pasta and wine seriously. The Miami-based Grassfed Culture Hospitality Group brought their Michelin pedigree north, and you can see it in the details. There's an actual pastaio pulling fresh noodles in the open kitchen, which is exactly the kind of theater this kind of place needs.

The wine program is the real standout though. Instead of the usual suspects, they've committed entirely to biodynamic and organic Italian producers plus some grower Champagne. It's the kind of focused approach that wine nerds appreciate and everyone else benefits from. The pappardelle ($36) justifies the price with technique and quality ingredients, while the Atlanta Fried Mushrooms ($24) are a clever nod to the local scene.

The space itself works well, with olive trees framing the patio and a DJ spinning lo-fi records inside. It's polished without being stuffy, which is a tricky balance for this kind of concept. With West Midtown still finding its culinary identity, places like this help establish it as a legitimate dining destination rather than just an overflow area for Midtown proper.
