A jazz club is coming to one of Decatur's most storied buildings. The 1935 Post Office space on East Trinity Place will be transformed into a live music venue, with a summer 2026 opening planned.
The Art Deco-era building, which served as Decatur's main post office for decades, has long been considered one of the architectural gems of the city's downtown. The new jazz club will occupy the historic postal space, bringing a new chapter to a building that has anchored East Trinity Place for nearly a century.
Decatur's dining and nightlife scene has expanded steadily in recent years, but a dedicated jazz venue represents something new for the city. The format taps into a deep tradition of live jazz performance across metro Atlanta, from the Velvet Note to Churchill Grounds, while giving Decatur its own destination for the genre.
The project joins a wave of adaptive reuse developments across the metro area, where developers are finding new purpose for historic structures rather than demolishing them. The Post Office building's distinctive facade and interior details are expected to be preserved as part of the conversion.
Details on the club's programming, capacity, and opening date are expected to be announced later this spring.
