Nearly two years after a fire ripped through and displaced hundreds of residents, Bell Collier Village on Howell Mill Road is gearing up to reopen with a fresh face. The five-story, 256-unit complex at 1950 Howell Mill Road, just north of Interstate 75, has begun pre-leasing, according to Greensboro-based owners Bell Partners.
Studios through two-bedroom options are back on the market. The first apartments are expected to be ready by June. Past marketing campaigns used the phrase "Buckhead address, Westside attitude."
The July 2024 fire happened during what Atlanta Fire Department officials called an unauthorized rooftop party of more than 100 people, where use of an outdoor grill went against building protocol. Improper fire controls contributed to the fire's intensity, and residents lost homes, pets, and valuables.
Impacted apartments and common areas have been rebuilt and restored. Rooftop grills were replaced with a safe community gathering area, Bell Partners told WSB-TV. The complex still counts a saltwater pool, fitness center, and dog park among its amenities.
