In the summer of 1970, crowds gathered in a field near the Middle Georgia Raceway in Byron, GA to listen to Jimi Hendrix, Bob Seger, the Allman Brothers Band, and dozens of other acts at what became one of rock history's legendary gatherings.

Now, restored footage from the Atlanta International Pop Festival will debut at Pullman Yards, giving modern audiences a chance to experience the historic event.

The festival, founded by Atlanta promoter Alex Cooley, drew an estimated 400,000 attendees across its two iterations in 1969 and 1970. The 1970 edition, held July 3-5, featured Hendrix's last major American concert appearance before his death two months later.

The restored footage captures performances and crowd scenes that have been largely unseen for over 50 years. Technical restoration brought the aging film back to viewable condition.

Pullman Yards, the former railroad maintenance facility turned arts venue in Kirkwood, provides an atmospheric setting for the historic premiere.

Dates and ticket information for "That '70s Experience" screenings will be announced.
