One of the biggest names in women's basketball is coming to Atlanta. Angel Reese, the former LSU star and two-time WNBA All-Star, was traded to the Atlanta Dream on Monday in exchange for first-round picks in 2027 and 2028.
Reese averaged 14.7 points and 12 rebounds per game last season with the Chicago Sky, leading the league with 5.1 offensive rebounds per game. At 6-3, she brings size, athleticism, and star power to a Dream roster that has been quietly assembling one of the most formidable frontcourts in the WNBA.
The Dream already added Brittney Griner before the 2025 season and feature All-Stars Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, who put up 18.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game last season. With Reese in the fold, Atlanta's lineup looks like a legitimate title contender.
The Dream will open preseason on May 3 against Washington at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, with the regular season tipping off May 17 against the defending champion Las Vegas Aces at State Farm Arena.
Reese's arrival gives the Dream something they have not had in years: a genuine marquee attraction who can fill seats and compete for championships at the same time.
